Read about Galleta Meadows in Los Angeles Magazine. Printed map from website and planned on viewing a few on a trip to Anza- Borrego State Park. We ended up seeing most all the sculptures! Loved them!

We just came to see the wildflowers, and spotted these beautiful sculptures off of Borrego Springs Road on the way home. I'd heard there were some sculptures out here, but never knew where they were. Now I check the website and find there are more to the north! I'll be heading back to Borrego Springs soon the see the rest!

Very Happy Wow. I stumbled across the Galleta Meadows Estate land owned by Dennis Avery. All I can say is...

Thank you for allowing me to share a fabulous walk surrounded by a beautiful natural desert landscape. And also thank you for supporting and sharing the incredible metal artworks of Ricardo Breceda. I had a wonderful time exploring and wondering where the next 'beast' was going to show up!!!

How fun you made those hours. An totally unexpected delight!!!

As so many of the postings comment, we stumbled upon Galleta Meadows by accident while passing through and were left breathless. What a wonder, a thing of beauty and a special gift. We were only passing through - another time we will spend a day or more admiring the works more fully. Thanks to the artist, Ricardo Breceda Thanks as well to Dennis Avery for sponsoring this. What a wonderful gallery these works reside in!

My husband and I had never been to Borrego Springs, altho we have dear friends who have shared their past experiences w/ us and we were looking forward to a visit in the future. We finally made the 3 hour drive this past Easter weekend and were delighted. We explored the area via tandom bicycle and discovered your fabulous sculptures by accident. What a wonderful project! Not only have you supported a skilled and exceptional artist, but you are providing a unique and interesting educational vehicle for the public at the same time enhancing an area that has natural beauty now with truly unique man-made artistry. We loved the experience and are so grateful for it! Thank you for putting your resources and vision to a project that we all can enjoy!

I spent a wonderful afternoon with an old friend I hadn't seen in 20 years looking at your sculptures.
It was like a safari, looking for the next creature across the desert floor.
The dinosaurs were the trickiest to get to, but that was part of the fun....figuring out how to get to them.
Thank you so much for creating such a magical world for us to visit!

Very Happy

My wife and I were driving through Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and decided to go back through Borrego Springs. We noticed the sculptures of the Mammoths and decided to take a look at them. Then we noticed the horses, then the giant eagle. Then we looked across the street and saw the sabertooth cats. That was one of the greatest experiences my wife and I have had in California. That is really an accomplishment with all the great things going on in California.

Thank you for sharting your land and love of art with us.

Thank you for this wonderful display. Although a frequent visitor to the area, I hadn't been in quite a few years. Saw the Huell Howser show about the sculptures, and went back as soon as I could. Wonderful! It was so much fun driving around to see as many of the sculptures as I could. I did miss a few, so I will come back very soon.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Mr Avery and Mr. Breceda. You both have made an amazing contribution to the Borrego Springs area. We took a drive today expecting to see the spring wild flowers and we saw so much more. It was like stepping back in time. We will tell our friends and family about this exciting day and the wonders you have created for all of us to enjoy.

There isn't much to say other than "thank you" for filling the valley with this wonderful collection. We're part-timers here but still feel a local "ownership" of all of the pieces. Thanks.

This is putting the Borrego desert on the map! It is a perfect belnd of art and terrain. And like the desert, open and free. Unique in the USA. My imagination can visualize the past a bit easier. Like these animals of the past, I am a transient here in time. So glad to stand in the sun and experience it like they seem to be doing.

We were part of a senior trip to your lovely area. I must say that the art was beautiful. The land that you have purchased for this art work really tells everyone some of the history connected with this part of the desert. Thank you for opening our eyes to the beauty of the desert. Very Happy

We went looking for wildflowers yesterday and were quit delighted to find these wonderful sculptures. What a great way to add to the desert without detracting from it.

Thanks for the art work and the vision by the land owner.

Blessings,
Barb

What a wonderful surprise we found in the desert of Borrego Springs when we came to visit friends there in Jan. The sculptures are amazing. The best part is it's free, unfenced, and unmolested. It's truly a tribute to the community and the admiring public. Thank you Mr. Avery for sharing these terrific pieces of art with us. They make Borrego Springs a destination.

I can't BEGIN to describe my utter delight to discover these upon making my first foray into Borrego Springs. I went to find wildflowers, but serendipitously happened upon these precious treasures. I was truly awe-struck, and I think finding them unexpectedly heightened the mystery and joy of the experience.

What wonderful work from Ricardo, and a remarkable gift from Mr. Avery...a perfect fit for a town with such strong support for visual artists.

Thank you!

I was told last year from my aunt about the pieces of art that are in Borrego Springs and as an artist myself I just had to go out and take a look personally.

I have to say, this is the best display of art I could have imagined. Not just the pieces, but the location and history behind them.

Of all the pieces that stands out most in my mind and will always be remembered are the farm workers. As a Mexican descent it personally touched me that these would be out here among all of the other wonderful pieces.

Thank you, Mr. Dennis Avery for your contributions to the public and inspiring artists. More-so, for the farm workers. As we say, 'Si Se Puede!'

Blessings
